GENup is dedicated to a straightforward mission with collective determination. Anchored in Fremont and supported by students from American HS, Irvington HS, John F. Kennedy HS, Mission San Jose HS, and Washington HS, our singular focus is clear: empowering students to succeed, by students themselves. Employing strategic methodologies, we advocate for tangible action through legislation and lobby for impactful achievements. Through grassroots organizing, we foster communication networks among youth, recognizing the potential of student voices as catalysts for change. At GENup, we are committed to learning how to effectively harness this power to drive much-needed advancements in education.
Collaborating closely with various activist organizations in our coalition, GENup strives to instigate restorative justice across all aspects of educational reform. Our ultimate objective is to unite all student-based stakeholders in the Californian community, forming a formidable collective that leverages its centralized power to champion educational causes. We aim to construct an extensive network of student-leaders, innovators, activists, and organizations, working collaboratively to advocate for a common goal with strength in unity. Through our expansive networks and pooled student resources, we endeavor to mobilize youth participation in diverse forms of educational activism, ranging from assertive social media advocacy to legislative lobbying and ground-level activities like canvassing and phone banking.

We strive to provide every student with equal and optimal opportunities to help them excel in their athletic endeavors. It comes to our attention that certain schools in the district need more coaches and proper tracks, fields, or facilities for practices. In addition, we are attempting to explore the possibility of redirecting funds to sports to achieve our goals. If you see issues in your school related to sports and athletics, please let us know! We aim to make your education and school experience as quality as possible!
The upcoming generation of student leaders holds the potential to profoundly change and impact the lives of other students. Our mentorship programs provide emerging leaders with essential skills such as communication, accountability, and confidence, as well as guidance in their future careers. Through our tailored program framework, our goal is to offer the necessary guidance to equip students for specific career pathways and provide them with hands-on, real-life experience.
